Takeshi Inoue joins BDA as Managing Director in Tokyo

BDA Partners is pleased to announce that Takeshi Inoue has joined the firm as Managing Director, based in Tokyo.
Before joining BDA, Mr. Inoue was Vice Chairman of Investment Banking and Head of M&A at Citigroup Japan. He was responsible for originating and executing M&A transactions for Japanese corporations, financial institutions, government entities, and private equity firms. Mr. Inoue worked at Morgan Stanley 1999-2003. He began his career at the Japanese Ministry of Finance in 1992. He holds a Law degree from the University of Tokyo, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Inoue’s experience includes domestic industry consolidation, cross-border acquisitions, restructuring of distressed companies, and hostile/defense assignments. He has worked on transactions in banking, insurance, non-bank finance, technology, consumer, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and trading companies.
Mr. Inoue advised on Sony’s successful defense against the activist campaign by Third Point; Sumitomo Corporation’s US$530m investment in BTPN, an Indonesian bank; the restructuring of Olympus and its alliance with Sony; Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma’s US$2.6bn acquisition of Boston Biomedical in the US; the integration of the LCD panel businesses of Hitachi, Sony and Toshiba, and US$2bn capital injection from the INCJ; and Asahi Breweries’ US$1bn investment in Ting Hsin Group.
