BDA awarded Best Deal of the Year in Korea

BDA Partners was awarded Best Deal of the Year 2020 at the 12^th Korea IB Awards, for advising SK E&C on the acquisition of EMC Holdings from Affirma Capital.

SK E&C is the engineering and construction services arm of the SK Group, a leading conglomerate in Korea. EMC is the premier environmental services provider in Korea, with market-leading businesses in water treatment, incineration, landfill and waste oil refining.

Citi Global Market Securities was jointly awarded as the sellside advisor on the deal.

The Korea IB Awards are held by The Korea Economic Daily (Hankyung), the leading Korean publisher on economic and financial news.

The transaction is recognized as the biggest ESG deal to date by a Korean conglomerate. This has paved the way for other conglomerates to consider more seriously an ESG approach to local and overseas inorganic growth. Read more about the deal here.
