Francois Perier is based in Paris. He worked from 1983-2002 in senior management positions for the European oil and gas majors, Total and Elf.

He served on the main Board of Directors of Total, as a member of the Executive Committee of TotalFinaElf, Senior EVP for chemicals, COO of Atofina (with 70,000 employees and revenues of Euros20bn), COO of Elf Atochem, as a member of Executive Committee of Elf Atochem in charge of basic chemicals, and as EVP of Acrylics. 1977-1982, he served as a French civil servant at the Corps des Mines from 1977 until 1982, first in charge of a regional environment protection agency then in the French Ministry of Industry and at the Ecole des Mines de Paris; he also worked part-time for President Mitterrand in 1981. He was educated at the Ecole des Mines de Paris (in chemicals) and the Ecole Polytechnique (in the automotive sector).
